    How to access audiology for adults:

    1. Referral via GP

    If you are concerned that you or your child may have a hearing problem, you must make an appointment with your GP first.  Your GP can refer you directly to audiology or via the ENT (ear, nose and throat) department.  

    2. Patients already known to the audiology service

    Patients who already have hearing aids from Swansea Bay University Health Board can directly access the audiology service without a GP referral.

    How to access audiology for children:

    1. Referral via GP / Health Professional

    If you are concerned that you or your child may have a hearing problem, you will need a need a referral for hearing assessment from the GP, health visitor or another medical professional.  Your GP, health visitor or another medical professional can refer you directly to audiology or via the ENT (ear, nose and throat) department, if appropriate.

    2. Patients already known to the audiology service

    Patients who already have hearing aids from Swansea Bay University Health Board can directly access the audiology service without a GP referral.

    Audiology services for children within the Swansea Bay University Health Board area are based at Singleton Hospital (01792 285270 or email address audiology.singleton@wales.nhs.uk) and Neath Port Talbot Hospital (01639 862276 / 01639 862667 or email address Audiology.NPT@wales.nhs.uk).  Audiology clinics are also held in community hospitals across Swansea Bay.  The children's audiology service can be contacted on the relevant telephone numbers or email address.

    How to access services such as hearing aid repairs, replacement batteries and lost hearing aids:

    If you require batteries, have a problem with your hearing aid or would like to discuss any other issue regarding your hearing, contact the audiology service by telephone, text or email.  Please be aware that the telephone lines are very busy. You can also access the Hearing aid battery and tubing request service and complete an online request form.
