NFL Team owners vote for a new labor agreement, waiting for the players’ Union to vote

On Thursday, U.S. time, according to league officials, the owners of the NFL team jerseys have completed a vote to approve the terms of the new labor agreement. Now it’s up to the players’ Union to vote.

32 players’ representatives will hold a meeting on Friday and complete the voting. More than 2 / 3 of the agreed number will be deemed as approval. After that, the players will vote, and more than half of them will agree to the final decision, which will be implemented at the beginning of the new league year.

The new labor agreement will provide the league with the option to expand the regular season to 17 games and shorten the pre-season to 3 games. If approved, the change is expected to be implemented as early as 2022. There will also be one more League USA playoff team each. A total of 14 teams can enter the playoffs, but only the league leaders can get the opportunity to rotate.

In addition, when the label window is opened (2.25), the NFL new labor agreement stipulates that each team can only use the privilege label once. The rule will affect teams such as cowboys, pirates and Titans, all of which are expected to use the two labels in the original labor agreement.

Apart from the regular season schedule changes, the core issue of labor agreement is still the interests.

In the new labor agreement, players’ share will change from 47% of the total interest to 48% (up $2-3 billion), and if the League chooses to play 17 regular season games, players’ jerseys sales share will change to 48.5% (up about $5 billion).
