Summary
This is a nurse led walk in service where patients will be seen by an Emergency Nurse Practitioner who will provide care and treatment directly or refer the patient to other services as necessary. Conditions that can be managed by an Emergency Nurse Practitioner include:
Minor injuries: sprains/strains, musculoskeletal injuries and pain, soft tissue injuries, cuts and abrasions, wound care and stitches, minor burns, scalds and sunburn, insect bites and stings, minor eye complaints requiring basic washout and irrigation, removal of foreign bodies.
Minor illness: earache and throat infections, hay fever, minor skin complaints, abscesses and boils.
A&E services for serious illness and injury will continue to be delivered at Withybush General Hospital.
