Summary
How to access audiology for adults:
1. Referral via GP / Health Professional (within the hospital)
New patients will need to contact their GP (or other Health Professional within the hospital) for a referral to the audiology service.
2. Patients already known to the audiology service
Returning patients with a hearing aid do not need repeat referrals. You can access audiology services directly for hearing tests and hearing aid repairs. Repeat hearing tests should be performed every 3 years. Contact the audiology service directly to arrange a repeat hearing test every 3 years.

How to access audiology for children:
1. Referral via GP / Health Professional
Referrals are accepted from any health professional who is concerned about a child’s hearing. If you have concerns regarding your child's hearing, discuss this with your GP or Health Visitor for a referral to be made, if appropriate.
2. Patients already known to the audiology service
The audiology service are also happy to see children who have previously been under the care of the service within the last 12 months, if there are parental concerns.
If your child has been referred, the audiology service welcomes queries to be directed via email or telephone call.
Where can children be seen in the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board area for audiology?
Audiology services for children within the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board area are based at Penguin Outpatients in the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales at the University Hospital for Wales. A number of community clinics are also held in various sites, your child may be seen in the community setting first. The children's audiology service can be contacted on telephone number 02921 843179 or email address paedsaudiology.cav@wales.nhs.uk.
How to access services such as hearing aid repairs, replacement batteries and lost hearing aids:
Repairs of your hearing aid should be done on a regular basis (every 6 months), please see the website for further instructions and details of the walk in repair service.
If you have found a fault with your child's hearing aid or earmould contact the audiology service by telephone, text or email.
