This section provides information on accessing NHS dental services in Wales. It includes advice on accessing dental services and contact details for dental services and helplines, including emergency out-of-hours contacts, for services across Wales.
There’s a new way to register your interest for a place at an NHS dentist. The Dental Access Portal will provide a central platform for Health Boards to allocate places for routine dental treatment at NHS dental practices across Wales. The Dental Access Portal is currently only available in the Powys, Cardiff and Vale and Hywel Dda University Health Board regions. It will be available across the rest of Wales in the coming months.
If you have an urgent dental problem, you should contact your local Dental Helpline. There are different phone numbers depending on the area where you live or are staying in.
