How to access audiology for adults:
1. Referral via GP
If you are an adult having difficulty with your hearing you should first book an appointment to see your GP. The audiology service are unable to book patients for hearing tests without a GP referral.
2. Patients already known to the audiology service
If you are an adult who already has hearing aids can directly access the audiology service with no need for a GP referral. If you haven’t been seen for a hearing test in over four years, contact the audiology service to be added to the waiting list.

1. Referral via GP / Health Professional
If you have concerns regarding your child’s hearing, discuss this with your GP or health visitor who will arrange a referral to audiology, if appropriate.
2. Patients already known to the audiology service
Patients who already have hearing aids can directly access the audiology service with no need for a GP referral. Contact the audiology service for advice and information, especially if you think your child's hearing has become worse or there is a problem with their hearing aid.

How to access services such as hearing aid repairs, replacement batteries and lost hearing aids:
Note, this service is available for audiology patients within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board only.
If you are unable to get replacement batteries from your medical practice, the audiology service are able to post them to you. Contact them by telephone, text, email or via online form.
If you have lost or broken your hearing aids, contact your local audiology service by telephone, text or email.
Note, if you use text or email to contact the department please include your or your child's full name & date of birth in the message and when emailing, confirm that you consent for transfer of personal information via email.
