Summary
The School Nursing Service provides a named, public health qualified, nurse for pupils in each comprehensive school and its feeder primary schools. The School Nursing Service is a confidential service within the constraints of safeguarding, working closely with children and young people to develop trusting and therapeutic relationships, as well as with parents and carers and a range of professionals. The School Nursing Service encompasses the following:
- Assessment and Health surveillance
- Health promotion and health education
- Immunisation and disease prevention
- Safeguarding the health and welfare of children and young people
