    Summary

    Finding out you are pregnant

    You can register your pregnancy online via the Booking your Pregnancy with Cardiff & Vale Maternity page. 

    Care During Pregnancy

    Your antenatal care starts when you have found out you are pregnant and have filled in the online pregnancy referral form to notify your midwife.  If you have a medical condition or a problem unrelated to pregnancy please visit your GP as normal.  For full details on antenatal care, visit Antenatal Care and Schedule of Appointments - Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.  Antenatal clinic telephone numbers are 02920 742288 for University Hospital of Wales and 02920 716103 for University Hospital Llandough.  

    What to do if I am experiencing complications? 

    You can contact your midwife if you are experiencing any complications and they will be able to advise further.  Alternatively, if you do not have the telephone number for your midwife, you can contact the Community Midwives Office on 02920 745030.

    The Delivery Suite 02920 742686 or 02920 748565 or 02920 742679 and Obstetric Assessment Unit for 17 weeks and over on 02920 744658 and they will provide advice and support for women in and out of hours. 

    Where can I give birth? 

    Your midwife will discuss your birth options with you.  You can usually give birth in either University Hospital of Wales or University Hospital Llandough or opt for a home birth but this will be confirmed with your midwife or consultant.
