Summary
Finding out you are pregnant
When you have found out you are pregnant, you can self-refer to your local midwifery team or call your GP surgery and you will be allocated a named midwife.
Care During Pregnancy
Antenatal care is delivered at by midwifery teams across the health board and you will be assigned a midwife once registering your pregnancy. The midwifery teams can be contacted on the following numbers:

You may see an obstetrician if you have pre-existing medical conditions, develop complications in your pregnancy or require more support during birth. A midwife will care for you alongside an obstetrician.
What to do if I am experiencing complications?
If you are under 16 weeks pregnant, you will need to be referred into the early pregnancy unit or, if urgent, attend the nearest Emergency Department.
If you have a pregnancy related concern post 18 weeks gestation to labour or up to 28 days postnatal, you can contact the labour ward or maternity outpatient assessment unit who will be able to recommend you further. Telephone numbers include:
