Summary

The unit offers a comprehensive falls assessment with Multidisciplinary input.

There is a waiting list but arrangements to see patients urgently can be made if the need arises (e.g. short term history of multiple falls, on anticoagulants, dramatic and recent gait changes) to access rapid  appointments they will need to be telephoned to the department.

Falls assessments are performed daily Monday to Friday between the hours of 9.30am to 4.00pm. They take patient self-referrals if they wish to contact directly. If deemed suitable a program of exercise will be offered in the form of 1:1, a set 11 week group or home exercises. The assessment will be firstly screened by a nurse, Physiotherapist and then a Medical Physician.
