    Summary

    How do I access the Continence Service?

    1.  Referral via GP / Health Professional

    The service can be accessed by GP or Health care professional referral.

    2.  Self Referral

    You can also refer yourself to the Continence Service.  Contact the Continence Service directly to speak to one of the Nurses.

    How do I obtain continence related products?

    The service controls the supply of continence related products that are available on prescription. Prescriptions are generated and signed by a Nurse Prescriber. Products are obtained by the patient according to their wishes.

    How do I obtain containment products?

    The service organises the delivery of containment products to individual’s homes, residential and hospitals following assessment.


    How do I arrange disposal of containment products? 

    Incontinence pads, sanitary products, stoma bags or catheter waste should be double bagged and placed out for collection within your general household rubbish.
